Artist statement:

Before even considering myself an oil painter, I am a storyteller and a fool. My work explores the absurdity of human behavior and the ways in which animals can serve as a metaphor for our own idiosyncrasies. I am drawn to the humor and playfulness of the animal world, and I use it as a way to invite viewers to engage with my work and to challenge their assumptions about the natural world.

Through my paintings I create whimsical narratives that playfully poke fun at the foibles of human nature. By creating animal characters that are both relatable and ridiculous, I hope to inspire a greater sense of empathy and understanding that can transcend traditional boundaries of species and culture. My goal is to create works that are both engaging and socially relevant, inviting the viewer to consider the world in new and unexpected ways.

Ultimately, my work is about celebrating the joy and wonder of the animal world and the rich tapestry of life on this planet. Through my art, I hope to inspire viewers to embrace their own unique quirks and to find beauty and meaning in the diversity of life that surrounds us all.
